finally

i have been officially welcomed into the enchanted land of employment. you know the place. you go there for a set amount of hours per day and do whatever you have been hired to do. then you go home to your "real" job where you support and maintain life for individuals in your care. after a minimal amount of sleep you get up and do it all over again. for two weeks. the reason i do this...at the end of these two weeks a wonderful thing they call a "paycheck" gets direct deposited into our checking account. like magic. almost. and then we get to do all kinds of extravagant things with this money! like make a house payment! fun! electricity and gas and water are nice too! don't forget that sweet little car payment! oops, there's two of those! my personal favorite...groceries. gee, i hope i don't get too spoiled.

i am being totally sarcastic. i am so grateful for the opportunity i have to work and contribute to our household. i love the type of work i have been hired to do and am very excited to start. during my time of unemployment i have learned many things that i would not have otherwise. i have realized the importance of living frugally and within your means. i truly understand the need for building a food storage supply and the peace that comes from that.

just catchin' up

hey, we (as in the simpson family), thought it would be a good idea to start a blog. that way we could let everyone know what we're up to and share our news (good, bad, or stupid) with anyone wanting to take the time to check up on us. we think this might be a good way to communicate, since we have proven that we have little writing ability and terrible phone skills. we are working on these. until then, we are going to try this mode of communication and see how it goes. please feel free to comment and let us know what you think. just be kind. and just as soon as we figure it out, we will post pictures of our beautiful and talented children for all to see! maybe even the dog. so check in once in awhile and see what's happening!

the gang

dang, we're all looking pretty good here. i do have one concern tho...do the kids really have to grow up?

more blog blah...

let's not count the months since i wrote anything. the humiliation could actually kill me. we won't even mention that it took forever and a day just to remember my password. not the first time. geez. i really want to make this blog into something special. to me that could mean something as simple as learning how to put a picture here. luckily i have a good friend that can help me. she is very patient. she has to be. i am computer challenged and it will take me about 407 times to get it right. which means she will have to tell me how to do it 407 times. patience is a virtue. if you have the good fortune to find a friend with an unlimited amount of patience, you are sooooo lucky. and you will probably laugh alot. ALOT! half the time she is probably laughing at me but what the heck. if you had to tell someone the same thing 407 times before they figured it out, you get to laugh all you want.

Quotes

Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.-Margaret Nadauld
